CityScope table.
Imagine city planners walking through a potential plan with stakeholders sitting anywhere in the world in real time! I pitched the idea of making this happen for the MIT Media lab's CityScope project.
CityScopeVR is a project where multiple users could experience the city they are building using legos, in virtual reality. The idea of experiencing the city that you build, in scale, to me is the most unique aspect of VR.
How it works: The physical CityScope table relays computer vision data realtime to multiple Virtual reality viewers (google cardboard). The viewer builds the virtual 3D environment with this data. This would let users immerse themselves and get more information about the virtual city through information overlay. Multiple users logged in could see each other's avatar inside the virtual environment and explore the city together.
Project Duration: 12 weeks.
